It is important to be aware of these before you plant to attend any trade shows, since they can determine how beneficial the event is for you. Here are a few tips on what to do, and what not to do when it comes to trade shows.

The Do’s

1. Research Before Going – There are many things which you should do when it comes to attending any of these events. Research is at the top of the list. Basically, anything that you decide to do in the business world should always be researched first, and these events are no different. Researching can help you to make sure that the event you are considering will benefit you and your career. You can make sure that there will be other like-minded people there with whom you can interact. Find out what types of conferences, workshops, etc. will be held and at what times. Which of these are relevant to your goals, and which ones should you attend? Make notes and keep track of the ones that you want to go to. Create a schedule from these notes. Researching first helps you to get the most benefit possible from the tradeshows in Atlanta.

2. Behave Professionally – Once you have decided which trade show to attend and which events you should take part in, always be sure to act professionally. Pay attention to others and be interested in what they have to say. Show them the same attention that you would want to be shown to you. Texting, checking emails, and talking on cell phones while other vendors are sharing is not appropriate. Remember, when you attend these types of events, you are showing yourself to the world and representing your business. Always behave like the professional that you want them to see you as.

You are here to learn and share information with others and to help yourself and your business grow. Step in with confidence and a plan to blow everyone away with your skills, your ideas, and your product.

2. Don’t Expect to Remember Names, Numbers – You will meet a large number of people with whom you’d like to network within the future at these trade events. Don’t go in the door without a notepad to keep track of the contacts that you meet. Also, don’t just write a name and a number down. Make side notes to help you remember who they were and what they do.
